This is the back bar that was in the Epstein Brewery. Epstein Brewery was in business from 1876 in Portage WI. It closed in approx. 1920 when Prohibition came into effect and never reopened. It is in good condition, never refinished and may have the original glass. A great piece of Portage WI History and American Breweriana.
Henry Epstein purchased the old Hettinger Brewery at Jefferson and Canal streets in 1876. His brewery was very small, producing only a few hundred barrels. His sons continued the brewery until Prohibition. 1920
